In Berks, a new, veteran-owned business is getting ready to launch its first location. “We’ve been in business for six months and everyone we’ve talked to has been really positive,” said Tim Melcher, owner of JDog Junk Removal & Hauling.

JDog Brands, the Veteran-centric franchisor with over 270 Veteran-owned franchise locations across the United States, was created in 2012 with a unique mission to help Veterans achieve the American dream of entrepreneurship by creating a clear path to successful business ownership. Lillie Williams, a JDog Junk Removal & Hauling franchisee in Columbus, Ohio, for example, recently embarked on a diaper drive to help provide single mothers with access to diapers for their children.

After signing an impressive 14 franchise locations in its first two years of operation, the emerging brand hopes to open 10 new locations by the end of 2022, and has identified several markets primed for growth across the country, including Pensacola, Florida.
